Dan and Daniel mount one of several panels for in-house training. Some panels include thermostats so technicians can practice programming sequences on different models; Some are chiller interfaces; Other panels include relays, transformers, motors, and fans. A Mitsubishi City Multi inverter technology and variable refrigerant flow zoning A/C system has been installed for training purposes. Counter tops have been incorporated to provide work space for technicians to hook their laptops to the system. Plans are to eventually add more powerful City Multi system controls, such as metering for multi-tenant buildings. Sheet Metal technicians recently completed installation of A/C ducts, for Test and Balance training. Plans are for the Training Room to be used company wide, across all departments Darcy, is a general Sheet Metal foreman, joining Air Central on October 2005. Darcy is actively involved with community service, and has been doing so for many years. Darcy started coaching when his oldest son of three turned five. He coached Pop Warner football for five years, Pony League baseball for 8 years, and soccer for 3 years. Now in his second year, Darcy coaches the St. Louis Intermediate football team. On October 31, 2013 all Air Central Inc. lead persons and office staff attended a full day seminar at Harbor View, in the Nico's Fish Market building. Presenter Steven Gaffney, president of the Steven Gaffney Company, is a leading expert on honest, interpersonal communication, influence, and leadership. The topic this year was "Leading Through Change"..... John Antonio is one of Air Central's Sheet Metal foreman, joining the company in January 2005. In his spare time, John is an accomplished runner, biker, and swimmer. Initially encouraged by his wife, Stephani to do cardio work outs, John took it to the extreme, training for the Honolulu Marathon (and finishing in 3:08 hrs). Lake Placid Triathlon, Honu Triathlon, Dick Evan's Memorial Road Race are just some of the competitions under his belt. John typically leads high-end, high profile jobs such as Tanaka of Tokyo Ala Moana, Apple Ala Moana, Apple Kahala, 680 Ala Moana, Pali Momi Medical Pavilion, Hardware Hawaii, Louis Vuitton Hilton Hawaiian Village, Highway Inn Kakaako, Dole Cannery, Blood Bank, and Down to Earth Kapolei, to name a few. Nelson Chow, our sheet metal supervisor, is one of our exemplary employees at Air Central Inc.. August 2013 marks his 37th anniversary with the company. Nelson's career in sheet metal began at Air Control on August 1976, when he was a first-step apprentice. (Air Control -- which was founded by Darrell and Anna Lai in 1975 -- eventually became Air Central Inc. in 2001.) Nelson worked his way up and became supervisor in 2001. Nelson's strong work ethic and his no-nonsense approach to getting things done has earned him respect from fellow employees and customers. Air Central's start up technicians and project managers attended a class for the recently launched 'Diamond System Builder' software program for Mitsubishi's City Multi A/C system. With laptops in hand, the technicians were trained on the latest features including new commissioning procedures. Rory Itano of Mitsubishi conducted the class in the new Mitsubishi training facility in Kakaako.... August 1, 2013 was our first employee forum, with guest speaker Taylor Takata . Taylor is a 2008 US Olympian in Judo, a two-time HHSAA Wrestler of the year, and a three-time US Senior national champion. In 2010 Taylor established the Hawaii Judo Academy. The Forum's theme was about Mentoring and it's impact on individuals. In a nutshell....... |
